Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury; a society where books are illegal and “firemen” burn them is depicted in a dystopian novel.  Set in a future American city, the story follows Guy Montag, a fireman who starts fires rather than putting them out. In this society, people do not read books, enjoy nature, or think independently. Instead of engaging in healthy activities, they drive recklessly, watch excessive television, and listen to the radio using “Seashell Radio” sets attached to their ears.

Montag’s life takes a turn when he encounters Clarisse McClellan, a gentle seventeen-year-old girl who opens his eyes to the emptiness of his existence.
