Don’t Overthink It: Avoid Your Negative Thought Patterns Book Review
Overthinking is now a severe problem for so many teenagers. Not only teenagers but also many adults. Overthinking causes many mental diseases. Such as depression, anxiety, etc.
Overthinking can suffer a person in all aspects of life. It makes life hell. It is a thinking habit a person has grown for years without knowing.
And his subconscious mind has become very used to it. It is not a good situation. Successful people and happy people do not allow overthinking. Overthinking can cause some physical diseases too. Such as insomnia. People in a dangerous stage of overthinking can’t sleep well at night.
I think it is not so hard to get out of it. Just one sentence is enough to get out of overthinking. That is, one day, it will come all over. One day we will die. Reminding this every time can stop overthinking. This works for me, but I don’t know it will work for you too.
If it doesn’t, I have a book for you. The book I have today on the topic of overthinking is ‘Don’t Overthink It: Make Easier Decisions, Stop Second-Guessing, and Bring More Joy to Your Life.’ Anne Bogel wrote this book. Scroll down to know more about this book.
About The Book ‘Don’t Overthink It.’
This book was published on 3rd March 2020. The name of the author of this book is Anne Bogel. This book was nominated for the GoodReads choice award in the non-fiction category. We’ve all been there, caught in a what-if cycle, plagued by indecision, paralyzed by fear of being wrong.
No one wants to live a life of constant overthinking, but it doesn’t feel like something we can choose. It feels like something that we are programmed to do, something we can’t escape. But it is? Anne Bogel’s answer is no.
Not only can you overcome negative thought patterns that are repetitive, harmful, and useless, you can replace them with positive thought patterns that will bring more peace, joy, and love into your life.
This book offers you a framework for making decisions that you will feel comfortable with, using an adequate amount of energy, allowing you to focus on all the other things that matter in life.
Don’t Overthink It Book Review
I was reading GoodReads review of this book. And found positive, negative, all kinds of feedback. But most of the people liked the book. The GoodReads rating for this book is 3.93.
And almost 6K people rated this book. And you can find more than 1.1K reviews on GoodReads. I’m putting some of the reviews here without mentioning their name.
Someone gave a 4-star rating in good reads of this book and said, “This book is written such a simple way to make sure that you don’t overthink! The concepts are simple and easy to implement in your daily life.
Small steps make it a bit different. I loved the author’s examples to demonstrate concepts of successes and failures! Don’t overthink it…and read the book! :)”
And the one who gave 1star on good reads and said,’ Full disclosure: I only read about 56% of this book, and then I couldn’t do it anymore. I will sound super snarky, and I’m not too fond of that, but this is the only way I can think of describing why I’m not too fond of this book.
I can see this book appealing to women who have problems like, “Oh no! We have an extra 18 hours in New York. What shall we do?” Or “Oops, we opened an 80 dollar bottle of wine by accident!” Yes, these were both in the book.
I didn’t feel like this transferred over to my life. There were too little concrete info and too many anecdotes. All I could think was how I wish I had her problems to overthink.”
The thing is, not everyone will like the way of writing. You’ll see some mix of reviews from people around the world. People who can relate their life to the book mainly like the book. And people who can not relate and mostly do not like much.
Conclusion
Reading a book is never a waste of time. Whether it is a best seller or not. Reading a book is like borrowing the author’s mind and seeing how he thinks. So do not become confused with such reviews. It’s your life and your choice.
In this article, I’ve tried to provide as much information as possible to provide this book ‘Don’t Over Think It.’ Hopefully, this was helpful. So, Don’t Overthink It, make easier decisions, stop second-guessing, and bring more joy to your life.
