Do we really need more and more to be happy? Have you ever asked this question to yourself? We all know that happiness does not require much. But somehow, we can not convince ourselves and can not remind ourselves. The less thing you will focus on, the much you can do with those. We are human beings; we are not superhuman.

We do have limitations over our potentials. In this busy, corporate, and competitive world, we somehow get lost in so many things in life. And we lose our focus on the things that are actually important in our life. I found a book online that is named Minimalism. The name says it all!

Joshua Fields, Millburn, and Ryan Nicodemus wrote this book. The full name of the book is Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Life. Our life is full of many shitty things that need to be minimalized. We have to eliminate things that are making us distracted and giving no real outcomes. This book seems to be a perfect one. Let’s review Minimalism today here in this article.

Authors Of Minimalism

An interesting part of this book is that two authors wrote it. One is Fields Millburn, and another one is Ryan Nicodemus. They both are known as The Minimalists. They run a website named theminimulist.com. Here on this website, they both create self-help podcasts, write articles that offer courses, events, and so on. According to their website, both of them has already helped over 20 million people live meaningful lives with less through their website, books, podcast, and Netflix films.

The Minimalist has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Forbes, and many famous American journals. Joshua Fields Millburn was born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1981, and he said that he was growing up as poor. And he suspected that the lack of happiness was because of a lack of money at that time.

And then he entered the corporate world when he was young.  Ryan Nicodemus was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1981. He was also from a family that does not have much money. And later on, he was also jumped into the corporate world. They both work together as a mentor of people to live meaningful life.

Inside the Book Minimalism

The book was published in 2011, and it is a self-help book. The book has almost 300 pages. And some of you may think that it is possible to minimalist life within just 300 pages. Read the inside of this book to know the answer to this question. The idea of minimalism does not mean getting rid of all the stuff. It is getting rid of the excess in life so you can focus on what’s actually important. Now the question is, what’s important in life? The answer is easy, health, wealth, personal growth, relationship, and so on.

Our life is short, and we have so many things to do in this short life. And often, we end up doing meaningless things, which keeps a negative impact on ourselves. Too often, we spend our lives doing things that do not make us happy. We buy stuff that we do not need to impress some people we don’t even like.

Minimalism is a tool to eliminate life’s excess and focus on the essentials. The five things that have been focused on inside the book to live a meaningful life are

  • Health
  • Relationship
  • Passions
  • Growth
  • Contribution

These five points that are discussed in the book are beneficial. The book will tell you the importance of these five things to live a meaningful life. If you are rushing towards worldly pleasure and worldly products, you can read this book.

Conclusion

Let’s see some reviews and ratings of this book on the internet. There is a documentary on Netflix available on this idea of Minimalism. 94% of Google users liked this book on Google. And the Goodreads rating of this book is 3.7 out of 5. These are very decent scores of a self-help genre book. If you feel like getting stuck with so many things in life, make time for yourself and read this book. This book may help you eliminate some unimportant things in life to focus more on the important stuff.
